Why is it that when I have nothing to do, no one else had anything for me to do either?
I have been doing a whole lot of nothing over the past couple of weeks, save work and child rearing, and had an ample amount of time to do whatever needed to be done. Now that I am becoming busier with my life, I am asked to do favors for everyone else.
I know that I do not have to do favors for people, but I really do not mind doing them, even if for a nominal fee. The point that I haven’t been getting at here is that we need to get our schedules together so that I am not swamped.
When it rains, it pours . . .

Maybe this explains why our children are better with electronics than we are.

If anyone else, besides me, decides to edit the all of the options in the WordPress administration panel at once by calling to the /wp-admin/options.php directly, and you are using one of the nightlies, BEWARE! It took me a good twenty minutes to figure this one out.
After changing the necessary settings, I lost all of my plug-in settings, and both of the rss_0ff XXXXXXXXX settings. This meant that I got all of my errors as though I was calling to an undefined function, and the dashboard did not work. On top of that, I lost all of I lost all of my comment moderation spam words.
To correct this problem, I had to:
- Go to /wp-admin/options.php
- Clear the values for
- active_plugins
- rss_0ff4b43bd116a9d8720d689c80e7dfd4
- rss_0ff4b43bd116a9d8720d689c80e7dfd4_ts
- Update settings
- Re-active all of my plug-ins
- Reconfigure all of the plug-ins that are able to be updated through the administration panel such as
- Rebuild the list of common spam words
Next time I think I will just take the normal route.

Today I took a nap for the first time in years. It has to be because I am sick.
Even when I know I should take a nap because I am going to have a late night, I am unable to fall asleep during the day. This is especially pertinent over the summer with the Friday night parades at Marine Barracks, Washington D.C. We work early in the morning, take the afternoon off, and come back in the evening. I usually end up getting home around 11:30 P.M., which is extremely late for someone who normally goes to bed between 9 P.M. and 9:30 P.M.
Now I just wish that RJ would start taking a nap during the day. He has not taken a nap during the day since he was a couple of months old. He is full of energy until he goes to bed, but his disposition leaves a lot to be desired.
And also on the nap front, Beth should be able to get her nap time in, although she usually opts to do other things when she could be sleeping. There have been many times I knew that she was tired, but she would not go to bed. Now all we have to do is get our sleep schedules back together (they have been out of kilter since Tony was born) and everything should be back to normal.

Tonight I performed at a Mardi Gras Ball in Washington D.C. I do not know if it is gaggle of misplace New Orleanders or a herd of those who wish they were, but either way it looked like fun.

Every once and a while I will do a search on Marines (United States Marine Corps), because that is who I am. Sometimes, I come up with some interesting stuff, like today.
Let me preface this quote with a general synopsis of the preceding text. The article begins with individual Marine’s descriptions of themselves, followed by a comparison of the legacy of MLK and the Marines. It is this comparison that lease to this statement:
Please, let me tell you one more story of illustration. I am a personal witness to an event so extraordinary in today’s times, that I would argue it only happens because of a nation named the United States of America.
During an attack on Co F, I watched a Muslim Marine give 175% of his heart, soul and effort to provide the lethal fires of his 81mm mortar against enemy forces and in support of his fellow, and brother Marines. His Christian brother Marines, his Jewish brother Marines, his agnostic brother Marines and his atheist brother Marines!
He did this because they ARE HIS BROTHERS.
Their religion has no impact. Their ethnicity, no impact. Their economic or social status, no impact. Their only impact was the Eagle, Globe and Anchor they all wear as symbols of their brotherhood. Their connection is their oath to the death that all that shall matter is a person’s RIGHT to choose their own way in this life. Their common bond: shared hardship and a common goal. No, I argue to all, that while the USMC (United States Marine Corps) may fall short of the perfect, it is the ideal. It is the ideal example of how life should be lived and shared, not horded or directed.
I hope I wrote enough to catch your interest, and that you go and read the full article.

… but this one was for me. It turns out that I had an ear infection. The medicine that they gave me does not seem to be helping at all, but I will give it a couple of days before I start to complain loudly.

I am feeling a bit under the weather. I do not get sick very often, and when I do I tend to get irritated very easily.
It is for that reason, I think I should go to bed.

Tony had his first non-routine doctor’s appointment today. It was nothing major, but it is still a scary proposition to take a newborn to the doctor for something out of the ordinary.
