Silly WordPress

When I upgraded to the final version of 1.5, I thought that I had lost some of my plug-ins. That was not the case. I simply lost all of the calls to the functions I added. Why? Because somehow I was using the default comments template.

Like most themes, I based my comments template off of Kubrik, the default theme for WordPress 1.5. So there was not much difference between what I had and the default template, but rather just enough to irritate me.

Lessons learned:

  1. If you call < ?php comments_template(is_single()); ?> and you do not have a single post template, you will be using the default comments template, whether you like it or not.
  2. To fix this either create a single post template or use < ?php comments_template(); ?> instead.
  3. Do not get angry, this is most likely your own damn fault.
  4. Pay Attention. Usually the simplest answer is the right one.
