Until I moved here earlier this month, I had no idea how much Columbus made it into that national news. Unfortunately, it has always been for failures instead of successes.
I wondered why everyone thought that Ohio was a backwater state when I arrived in Washington D.C. I was convinced that it was a few bad apples who gave Ohio a bad name. But apparently the media helps, too.
I actually lived in Northern Virginia, which a giant suburb of out Nations Capitol. But a mere thirty minute drive from my apartment you could find shacks in the mountains. I did feel a little out of place (I am not from Southeast Ohio) but I adapted.
