For a long time I have thought that the WordPress Administration area could use some beautification. I began my search a while ago and stumbled across Shuttle. From the sounds of it this project is more than just a style sheet. In the mean time, I have installed a new style sheet, SpotPress. I like the change, but do not know if I am going to make in permanent, and I definitely would to recommend it for a regular resolution screen, but it works great on my new wide screen laptop.
Speaking of more than just themes, I am also excited about K2. I knew that just having themes that could easily be changed would not be enough.
I got my new laptop yesterday. I was surprised since the item was back-ordered, and the shipping date they gave me was tomorrow, but it was a pleasant surprise.
The Simpsons are coming to the big screen.
The Simpsons has to be my all time favorite show. I do not watch much TV, but the Simpsons is definitely one show that I make some time to watch. I think all this stems from the fact that I was not allowed to watch Simpsons when it first came out. (I did manage to see those first episodes, though, thanks to a VCR and my friend Jake.)
This show is entertaining on so many levels. It has a plentiful amount of toilet humor, which even the most educated of us can still laugh at. But there is subtle humor as well, although the quantity of this subtle humor has declined as the show has aged. (I think my favorite subtle joke of the show is that Sideshow Bob’s prisoner number is 24601, the same as Jean Valjean from Les Misérables.)
But with every positive there is always a negative. The show has been lacking in the idea department this season. I hate to say that because I am such a huge fan, but I cannot distort the facts. My favorite Simpsons episodes are the Tree-house of Horror Halloween Specials, and this years episode was, to quote Comic Book Store Guy, the “Worst episode ever.”
Despite my griping and complaining, I will probably see this movie opening weekend.
It is disturbing to think that people can dig through out trash and steal out identities, so we compensate by buying paper shredders, cd/dvd shredders and sometimes just not throwing things away. It is even more disturbing when a company that deals almost exclusively in our financial information is subject to the same faux pas’ we are.
NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Citigroup said Monday that personal information on 3.9 million consumer lending customers of its CitiFinancial subsidiary was lost by UPS while in transit to a credit bureau — the biggest breach of customer or employee data reported so far.
I only mention this because this is not the first time this has happened. Not by a long shot. I received a letter from Bank One in March stating that I was one of the people whose information was lost in a similar incident. In a knee jerk reaction, I promptly canceled my card.
I am just wondering, if I told CitiGroup that I had sent my monthly payment via UPS and it was lost in transit, what would they say?
My wife has finally caved and let me buy a new laptop. Well, she is not actually caving, since she said that I could buy it two months ago. But she said that I could buy it again, and I did.
The price was what really made me jump at the opportunity. It was listed at $600 cheaper than the last time I drooled looked at it. It is on clearance since they are coming out with the new model soon. The new model does not make waiting worthwhile, so I will buy this one, and upgrade it.
The only problem with this is that it is on backorder, so I am looking at a couple of weeks before I can play with my new toy.
