Huey Lewis and the Snooze

We attended an Independence Day function where the second main attraction, aside from the fireworks, was Huey Lewis and the News. The concert was alright, which is almost a compliment since I am not a huge fan of their body of work, but the crowd was droll. I heard more people singing Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” during the fireworks, than I heard singing in those spots during live performances when the band stops playing to you can say the next line.

It was the boys first time at the fireworks. We were a little worried that they might be scared, but both of them were glued to the sky. Until some person with the brain the size of a pea decided it would be a good idea to turn on the stadium lights. Right in the middle of the fireworks! They were on for a good five minutes before they went off again. It was almost enough to ruin the night, but the people made it worthwhile. And again, I am in Ohio, and they sang the National Anthem before the fireworks, and the Pledge of Allegiance as well.
