Moving Tips?

When moving a mile down the road, is it really worth the time to pack all of your stuff up in boxes?

I can understand when moving across the country, which I have done before. But I have also seem many people move in one day without a single thing packed in the morning. We are better off than that, but I just do not see the point.

when its you doing the lifting and carrying then yes i would recommend a box - if it’s someone else, then who cares :-)

You may not have to wrap everything up, but moving things like books or cutlery one box at a time is a lot easier than trying to balance a stack of books.

I did not mean that I would carry everything out of boxes. My question, more clearly stated, was why would I want to pack up my life to move a mile down the road?

By this, I mean that packing requires me to do without, as all of my effects will be boxed up. With this small of a move, we can quickly throw it in a box, drive down the road, and quickly unpack. There would be no need to suffer the inconvenience of doing without the things that I use on a daily basis.
