CoComment GreaseMonkey Script

It seems that everything is breaking on me today. The latest was the fact the CoComment Automatic Invocation GM script no longer works.

If you installed this script before March 27:th you need to reinstall the latest version, as the coComment people changed format of their bookmarklet and this script needs to understand how to parse it to work and reupdate itself.

I installed the updated script and everything is hunky dory.

Firefox Extensions

I just installed Listzilla, a Firefox extension that generates a list of installed Firefox extensions. That may seem a bit redundant, but this seems pretty useful. The developer mentions a little something about using this on a fresh install, but I would definitely recommend MozBackup for this. Even simply copying the extensions folder makes a little more sense, but I suppose you could use this extension for that purpose.

Either way, I have had many people that ask me what extensions I have installed. I am kind of a fair weather extension user and routinely have almost a hundred. For this, I removed all of the extensions that I have not used in the past couple of weeks to shorten the list. Here are the Firefox extensions that I am currently using:

Sharing Google Reader

OK, I know that I have not been spending that much time online the past couple of weeks, but I find it very odd that I have not seen anything written about sharing Google Reader.

Google Reader Share

I have never had any use for sharing my feeds, and I am sure there are many better ways to perform that task. I did immediately notice that it seems to be geared for Blogger. With all of the products Google has put out over the last few years, there are probably days that I do not even visit a non-Google site.

OK, probably not, but I am certainly beginning to feel that way. Either way, I applaud the new features given to us by our Google Overlords.

Family Health

Beth starts her new job tomorrow. She has been excited about this position for a while, and worked very hard to get this job. This is the hardest that I have ever seen her work towards something. I am very proud of her.

Her former employer had mentioned making a competitive offer, but backed off once they realized that it was out of their price range. With the savings in commuting expenses and travel time, additional (and superior) benefits and the increase in salary it amounts to over a 150% increase in compensation.

This change will be very good for us as a family. We will have nearly an extra hour together daily, along with more flexibility overall.

Wish Beth luck on her first day!

The Coyote Won

It seems that the Coyote finally got the RoadRunner … our internet and phone have been out since Wednesday. I called and the earliest service call was Sunday between 3PM and 5PM. As there was no other choice, I took the appointment.

I went outside this morning and noticed the Time Warner van at the house behind ours. The cable guy was giving me a weird look. I found that kind of odd since every other cable guy I have ever seen working has done his best to simply ignore me. At this point I went back inside to check my internet and phone. They worked!

Is this all a coincidence? Probably, but it seemed quite out of the ordinary to me, especially since I saw him stop at the next five houses consecutively, and back at the house behind ours later this afternoon. I am just glad to have my internet and phone back.
