Random Notes

I have been very busy lately.

Over the past two weeks Beth has had surgery, both boys have come down with strep throat, RJ is switching daycare centers, my web host crapped out on me and I have ditched Windows for Ubuntu permanently.

Aside from that, everything is GREAT!

Hope the family is doing well.

Ubuntu is great and Dapper Drake makes it even better!

I upgraded to Dapper and was pleasantly surprised to find that my system is much more responsive than with Breezy. Firefox seems especially snappier. I really like the new GNOME deskbar applet too.

I love my web hosting provider, DreamHost.

The family IS doing well. Beth starts her new schedule at work today, so that should make things a bit easier.

After playing around with Dapper for a couple of days, I am very pleased with the switch. Getting my wifi to work was a piece of cake! (That was the major reason why I had not made the switch earlier.)

Beth will occasionally borrow my laptop, and even though she had no experience with Ubuntu, she said that she likes it better than windows (once she found everything). Maybe I will switch my whole network over to Dapper!

I am definitely finding a new hosting provider after this contract runs out. Unfortunately, having had a great first contract with iPowerWeb, I paid for another two years, and still have another year left on the contract.

[...] My son sent me this link from FARK.com about something very similar. Seems there is this article in the MONTGOMERY ADVERTISER about a woman who is suing for damages to a child she tried to have aborted. The Alabama Court of Civil Appeals has ruled that the woman can sue Planned Parenthood on behalf of the child because " a health care provider can be held responsible for injuries caused to a child in the womb." [...]
