Cancer
A friend of my wife has a little boy whose cancer is in remission. Yesterday she had a barbecue to celebrate. I cannot think of a better cause for celebration.

It is that time year again. Time to break out the grill.
We have partaken in two barbeque’s this weekend. One on Saturday and one Today.
Our outing on Saturday was with my wife’s co-workers. It was out first time going out with the boys. Ever. The last time we went out without children was over a month before Tony was born. Half a year ago. That is a long time.
Today’s barbecue was a rather lazy family gathering. Not that anyone was lazy per say, but rather that it was a lazy day.
On a positive note, this is the first place that we have ever lived at where we can actually keep a grill on out patio. I think that it is high time we bought one. My goal is to have one by the time that my parents arrive next weekend so that we can have a cookout. If that does not work out I will have to have one by the 7th of May since we are supposed to host a barbecue that day and a barbecue without a grill is a bit of an oxymoron.
If anyone has any suggestions on the type of grill that I should buy, please let me know.
Just in case anyone was interested, here are the statistics from our move.
On pack out day it took a grand total of eight people approximately 18 man hours to load the truck. We loaded the majority of the truck in about five hours, with significant but intermittent help from neighbors and fellow Church members.
The trip took 9 1/2 hours. This is normally a 7 hour (or less) trip, but the U HAUL did not like driving through the mountains.
Unloading took 10 people about 20 man hours. This went much quicker since we had a lot of constant help.
We had all of the furniture set up by 2 AM Sunday morning, and spent the rest of the day Sunday sorting through boxes, some of which we still cannot find.
We have once again disconnected our home phone, since we never use it anyways and we are moving soon.
If you need to get a hold of us and you do not have our cell phone numbers, e-mail me and I will give them to you.
If you cannot e-mail me, then you are most likely not reading this, so you are SOL.
Last night was one of those rare nights that we got a baby sitter for RJ. The last time that happened was November. It was also one of those rare nights we went out to eat. Some friends of ours came down and we all went to Sakura, a Japanese Steak House.
I thrive on routine, and usually order the same thing everywhere I go. I was a bit wary about trying something new, but Beth insisted. I was very impressed. The food was great, and I could not even finish what was on m plate before they gave me more food, I did well with the chop sticks, and the beer was deceptively tasty. When all was said and done, I was very full and quite convivial.
It was a very entertaining meal as well. Our chef gave me a couple of ideas to try out on our griddle at home, although I think that Beth might object. Tony slept throughout the whole ordeal, which also lead to a pleasant meal.
All in all, I think that this was the highlight of my week. I wish my wife and I could have more “date nights” like this one.
